KyotoLefty (202), Kyoto, Japan Sep 10, 2008 Light copper / brown / orange color with a tall head. Aroma of banana, melon, rich malt. Very fruity, extremely sweet flavor, tons of candied banana, some cloves, sweet ripe melon. Very rich wheat malt. Very rich and interesting but to my mind it is out of balance. Sweet and creamy, with little bitter or sour to balance. The alcohol is not really noticeable. A bit sour in the finish, to balance things, but not really enough. Worth a try, for sure, and a great dessert beer, no doubt, but a bit too sweet and cloying.
highlandlad (1200), Sydney, Australia May 7, 2008 An unusual winter beer out of Japan but pretty damn tasty. Cloudy butterscotch colour with low suds and busy carbonation. The aroma echoed the brewer’s hefe - heavy on the wheat, plenty of clove, supplemented by some diacetyl. The beautiful creamy body carries the 7% abv very well. Chewy wheat malts and a big clove finish. Very tasty. Liked this one a lot. (Bottle courtesy of TimE at Sully’s Sydney RB gathering Xmas 07 - thanks amigo)

Bubblegum, clovess and milk chocolate in nose. Banana split, clovey mouth that is relatively well balanced. Slightly tart, chocolately finish. Nice. Hildigöltur (5056), København Ø, Denmark Jul 13, 2005 Bottled. Cloudy brownish orange coloured. Yeasty banana aroma. Sweet flavour with quite some wheat and banana. Rather thin.
