(Bottle 65 cl) Pours black and almost completely opaque with a small, beige head. Medium body with lots of lightly burned malt and some roasted, coffeeish notes. Lightly vinous with accents of raisins. Coffeeish, slightly ashy finish. But not bad at all. Thanks to Degarth for sharing this. 030406

Very dark brown, opaque. Supposedly made with pumpernickel bagels. Bready crusty, toasty, woody aroma. Thin body can't hold like flavours and some hoppy dryness fades into bread and then into nothing.

Big brown head topping a particle-filled black body. Aroma is rich chococoffee and light bready (though the latter may be due in part to the power of suggestion). Taste is much the same, and finishes coffee bitter. Creamy full body. Surprisingly decent beer.

Draft... Brewtopia 2004... Pours pitch black... can’t get any light to penetrate in this setting. Mid-sized, creamy, well-tanned head. Decent lacing. The nose is of espresso and chocolate. Well-balanced flavor with notes of coffee, chocolate and light buttermilk. Medium-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Lengthy, chocolaty, bitter finish.

Pours a nice darkness, nearly opaque, with a thick off-white head. Aroma is mild and roasty with a touch of coffee. Smooth semi-sweet and milk chocolatey body exhibits a nice balance and great drinkability. A very enjoyable porter.

Thanks to Matta for this one. Pours ebony with 2-finger tan head and great lacing. Aroma of roasty chocolate malt, coffee, some pumperkickly notes, and some vinous molasses. The flavor was roasty malty, getting very chocolatey as it warmed, with a bit of krieky tartness and dry hops, and indeed some pumpernickly, rye, caraway seedy notes in the finish.

Poured a very dark brown to black color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma was sweet and roasty with milk chocolate and soy notes. The aroma was thick. The flavor was smooth and roasty. Semi-sweet with mild chocolate notes. Mildly bitter and semi-dry. Light side of a medium body.

Bottle (650ml). Shared with blankboy and biegaman, via trade with Degarth. Deep burnt mahogany colour, slightly hazy, average frothy off-white head. Nutty, carbonized malt aroma, like burnt toast with marmite on it, some bitter rye-like acidity in the finish. The taste is very roasty, baker’s chocolate bitterness seems to dominate for me, a little herbal grain character but not much alcohol presence at all - for something this malty, it has quite a bitter finish. Barely average body, slick, still and lightly astringent/acidic - not a long finish, not much aftertaste, just a unique, tasty and drinkable porter.
