Headbanger (1001), Aurora, Illinois, USA Jul 8, 2008 16.9 oz green bottle(Bakalář Light Beer 4% ABV)-Pours a golden body with a small covering for a head. Aroma of skunk, sweetness, malt, and a little hops. Taste of the same with a nice sweetness on the back end. I was expecting the worse but this light bodied brew is not bad. Cornfield (4340), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Jan 23, 2008 Taking a hit for the Chicago crew since I recently insisted that they knew where the Pivovar Rakovnik beers were available... Drinking from a green bottle of Bakalář Light Beer, having a listed abv of 4%. Since the only other Bakalář brew left for me besides this is a Dunkel and I don’t think we have a new beer of theirs in this area, this is my only logical choice. It has a deep golden body and initially sports a frothy white head, soon vanished. The aroma is sweet and grainy with the merest suggestion of grassy hops. It’s light bodied and kind of oily in the mouth. Clean tasting sweet grainy malts and the hops grow a bit stronger, but it’s still somewhat weak in the flavor department. Okay, I s’pose. Quack-Duck (1905), Bodensee, Germany Dec 15, 2007 draught at VPT Praha 2007. Clear golden colour, medium-size head. Quite hoppy, malty as well with a touch of cardboard. Light-bodied and thirst-quenching.
