A rich, spicy, malty brew. Ginger, cinnamon, a peppery/ruccola aroma.
Some burned sugar bitterness, port-like voertoens. Warming alcohol.
A truly splendid beer. Furseth (1333), Kungälv, Sweden

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Feb 24, 2006 Bottled. Muddy amber, very lively aroma. Orangery, peachy, almondy nose. Sweet and very soft. Gently malty but exploding with flavours. Orangey finish. The combination of a delicate, soft malt character and an intricate yeast character makes this an outstandingly complex beer. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 23, 2008 22oz bottle. Unremarkable belgian yeast nose with some fruit and bread. Pours with a huge head. Orange with a white puffy head. The taste is much better than the smell and appearance would lead you to expect. Full rich, but with a ton of carbonation to keep it going down smooth. Definite fruit and some belgian yeast at the end. Sweet but not overly so. This is a nice solid effort by the Italians.
