Oct 28, 2007 Thin coarse white head quickly disappears. Hazy pale yellow body. Light mealy sweetish fruity aroma. Dry-sweetish mealy fruity taste with light malty notes, a bit watery. No aftertaste. Not much taste at all. Boring. (0.75l bottle at Isola della Birra, Milan.)

Jul 26, 2007 0,75l bottle, bought in Pistoia. Rather dark yellow colour, cloiudy, large head. Aroma of citrus fruit peel and grapefruity. Refreshing taste, malty, fruity, flavours of grapefruit and spices (coriander). Lovelly!

Jul 15, 2007 Bevuta a pasto in compagnia, mi ha fatto un’ottima impressione, ma purtroppo non sono riuscito a goderne più di due bicchieri. La ricomprerò e me la gusterò da solo, comunque per quel che ho potuto notare piacevolissima, molto dissetante ma tutt’altro che anonima.

Jun 29, 2007 Bottle: Sweet orange aroma, light spicy. Hazy yellow color, small white foamy head with little retention. Intensive orange flavor, sweetness, light acid touch and very spicy. Intensive, dry coriander flavor. Long astringent, dry and spicy finish. A very good summer beer and a real good witbier.

Jun 8, 2007 Bottle (waaaaay past its use by date) -- Typical pale yellow of the style with a large white head with little retention but a fair bit of lacing and a lot of carbonation. Crisp sour aroma with a hint of coriander at the end. Palate is watery yet surprisingly round. Flavour reflects the aroma but with more obvious citrus and coriander. Not bad in small quantities by itself or in larger quantities with pizza, otherwise it would get a bit cloying. I’m not a big fan of Italian beers or this style, but this was a pleasant surprise. The beer is a hell of a lot better than the translation of the commercial description -- I tasted not a one Belgian root!

Jan 27, 2007 Birra Bianca 5% in 750ml bottle, in a restaurant on Isola Tiberina, Roma, Italy.
Organic, pale golden body, large foaming head, citrus flavour, silky palate, granny smith notes that linger on the palate. Best beer I had in Rome. Shared with Mr. B on winter’s day in 2007.
