Commercial Description:
Aroma initially characterized by pepper that fight in a field ruled by a rich fruity fragrance of dried fruits with ripen banana, toffee and a soft sweet chocolate fragrance. The attentive taster shouldn't miss a sharp floral of rose and a sensation of must of wine always pleasant.

My favorite baladin beer to date. The aroma has Belgian-like malt and fruit, like an abbey ale. Fruit int he flavor as well, with more sweet malt, light spice, and yeast. This is like a malty abbey beer, full of thick, sweet malt. Very good. Dark brown in color.

750ml bottle from brewfiend (I think) sampled at the MN RB winter shindig. Raisins, prunes and alcohol on the noes. Pours a thick hazy copper with floaties. Metallic malt, mildly spicy yeast, and dried fruit on the tongue. Medium bodied bordering on the watery side.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Gingerbread and maple syrup aroma licked with pepper and expansive spices; heated. Dusky flavor, very perfumey and full of ripe fruit, suggesting saffron and lavender with a hint rich floral touch. Mace, anise seed, tangy pickled ginger; creative, nuanced, foreign and intriguing. Crisp and lively, though quite heavy on the palate. Honey glazed orange toward the long, percolating, sticky finish of unrefined sugars, coating indefinitely to the effect of a rich, full bodied honey wine. Weird, hard to categorize, and extremely likeable.

Very spicy belgian nose. Spicy body with some carob. Smooth finish. Brown color with no head.

Coca-cola colour. Rocky head, lively carbonation. Sweet, spicy, nutmeg and cinnamon. A beer for dark and cold winter nights. A little yeast, some sourness in the finish.

Brown to violet in color, small head but important carbonation. Nose of blue grapes, berries and yeast (belgian?). Starts too sweet, but a refreshing acidity takes over and ends on a metallic note. Expected it would be quite round, but is actually thin. I preferred the beer served cool, would not recommend to serve tempered as cooler, it enhances its refreshing side. OK, but not that exciting.

Bottled. Cloudy brown colour with firm head. Vague aroma, it’s bit acidic with almonds and dark berries. Yeasty, bit nutty flavour with almonds and slight toasty. Acids are present here as well. Pretty one-dimensional maltiness.
