Cloudy gold with a small head and spots of lace. Aroma is of citrus and a touch of dryness. Yeast and a note of pears. Dry. The flavor on the other hand is a bit more sweet. The citrus is there, though there is some yeast. A little doughy. Smooth and even bodied. Very refreshing. A session beer almost. I want to try this again in the summer.

750 ml bottle from Sam’s in Chicago, bought as a tribute to my daughter, Norah, who spells it correctly! Golden amber colour with a mostly lasting creamy and frothy off-white head. Fruity, ginger, herbal, peppery, and lightly toasty aroma. Fruity, ginger, and herbal flavours with a peppery and dry hoppy bitter finish. Medium bodied, soft, rich, and creamy mouthfeel. Traditional ales are quickly becoming a favourite style of mine - grounded in tradition but experimental and an adventure at the same time. Reminds of the saying I keep in mind as a new parent at all times, "There are two things we can give our children. One is roots, the other wings."

Bottle at St Albans Beer Festival, September 2006. Hazy gold colour. Very spicy, peppery aroma with what I could swear to be mothballs in the equation too. Just the same on the palate with some sweet, tropical fruit touches. There’s something perfumed and a bit cosmetic running throughout. A rather odd beer that, I have to admit, wasn’t really to my taste.

Pours bright gold into a tulip. Head quickly subsides. Sour aspirin aromas. Dry and medium bodied with a lasting sour lemon and ginger finish. Similar in flavor to Fantome Printemps.

75 cl bottle bought at Mentana, Parma. Cloudy golden with a thick offwhite head. Spicy fruit aroma with pepper notes. Pepper-spiced fruit flavours, sweet yet with a dry spicy finish. Medium body, well-carbonated. Original taste but a bit too spiced.
