| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 7, 2005 (750 ml bottle: $13.99 at Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, CA) Strong notes of spice (most notably, coriander and ginger?) and lemon are the dominant force in both the aroma and flavor of this beer, which along with the zesty carbonation, contribute to a pleasant, refreshing and clean mouthfeel. It’s somewhat sweet and quite fruity, but at the same time, fairly tart. The malt profile is pretty much in the background, something you really have to focus on to pick out, and seems to resemble a light wheat beer. Medium in body with a long-lasting finish. The color of this beer is bright orange, like dried apricots. The beer is cloudy with thousands of dark specs suspended in the liquid, with the heavier particles falling out of suspension. The initially fizzy, soda-like off-white head dissipates fairly rapidly to a thin, bubbly layer, and leaves no lacing on the glass. Not the kind of beer I’d drink often, but it’s a nice departure from "traditional" beer. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA

Poured a hazy yellow. Flavors and aroma were tart and citusy. Some lemon. Light bodied and finish dry. (2.4)
Re-rate 7/2/06 Still hazy yellow. The aroma was lightly sweet and malty with ctirusy fruit notes. Malty and fruity flavor with a hint of yeasty funk. More palatable this time. I don’t know how often this product turns over. Maybe the first bottle was bad or maybe my tastes have changed. Hmmm RateandPillage (417), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
