Very different than the sour edition I had about a month ago. Nose is very perfumey with hints of peppercorn, peaches, potpourri, and other spices. Flavor is full on peppercorn and I really didn’t expect it. Some ginger in there too, now that I think about it, Interesting brew, glad Ethan didn’t pay too much for it. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 1, 2008 Bottle, shared with Traci on a rainy 1 Sept. From the BSF at GBBF. Pours pale copper with a little rose, good layer of fine white head. Incredibly evocative aroma: I’m 12, mowing lawn on a hot summer day for the old couple next door. This is that magic combination of hot petrol mower engine, a whole patch some kind of lawn weed just given a blitz (creeping jenny?) and old dusty garden shed. A hint of old-lady perfume. A dry prickly heat smell, massively interesting. Flavor is a bit less singular that the nose, but still quite a character: dry dandelion and quinine up front, transitioning to a big banana rum finish. Oddly, starts with apparent dryness, finishes sweet. Wonderfully messy beer. I’d happily lump this in with some of the funky Fantome saisons. Mighty nice. Svesse (2657), Hässelby, Sweden

Fruity nose with apricots and orange. Fruity, malty taste with notes of apricots, orange and spices. Low bitterness, medium body. not overly sweet. Definitely different, but a nice and very spicy beer. astrofrk (218), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
