On tap at the Ginger Man. Pours a nice amber color with a thin white head. Aroma is slightly fruity and malty with a neat spiciness. Taste is smooth and malty with a sweet candy like fruitiness and has hints of caramel. Very flavorful and complex.

Bottle on sale from Sams. Hazy orange pour with greyish tint. Full white head. Very spicy and floral... earthy and peppery. Bready. Also maybe ginger? Clove? Who knows... confusing to my palate.

Pale copper pour with a sweet malty aroma. Floral aroma. Spicy, fruity flavor up front with a bready finish. Ginger is a little over the top

Pours a pale peachy amber with a thin fizzy white head. The nose was sweet, lightly alcoholic, malty, pungent and perfumy, friuty, spicy. The flavor was very spicy, warm, malty, slightly earthy, bready, ligthly fruity. Very interesting flavor. The palate was lightly bitter and fully carbonated.

Bottle shared by emacgee. Thanks Ethan! Very different than the sour edition I had about a month ago. Nose is very perfumey with hints of peppercorn, peaches, potpourri, and other spices. Flavor is full on peppercorn and I really didn’t expect it. Some ginger in there too, now that I think about it, Interesting brew, glad Ethan didn’t pay too much for it.

Bottle, shared with Traci on a rainy 1 Sept. From the BSF at GBBF. Pours pale copper with a little rose, good layer of fine white head. Incredibly evocative aroma: I’m 12, mowing lawn on a hot summer day for the old couple next door. This is that magic combination of hot petrol mower engine, a whole patch some kind of lawn weed just given a blitz (creeping jenny?) and old dusty garden shed. A hint of old-lady perfume. A dry prickly heat smell, massively interesting. Flavor is a bit less singular that the nose, but still quite a character: dry dandelion and quinine up front, transitioning to a big banana rum finish. Oddly, starts with apparent dryness, finishes sweet. Wonderfully messy beer. I’d happily lump this in with some of the funky Fantome saisons. Mighty nice.

(Bottle, GBBF, London, 7 Aug 2008) Dark amber colour with brief, white head. Fruity nose with apricots and orange. Fruity, malty taste with notes of apricots, orange and spices. Low bitterness, medium body. not overly sweet. Definitely different, but a nice and very spicy beer.

Hazy Orange. Small, fast head. Aroma: Fruits, spice. Flavor: Fruits, coriander, wheat. Dry, sweet finish. Not bad for Italia, better known for its wines.
