| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 26, 2008 nice and hazy golden orange body with a lasting, frothy white head; this is a smooth, calm, complex, and vinous ale; i preferred the flavor than the aroma; the subtle mix of spices and herbs provides an interesting, soft, and also welcome addition to taste--how it contrasts to typical flavor profiles of this day yet grasps smoothness and deliciousness is good. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 11, 2008 Has a somewhat herbal nose, mixed with some floral notes and a bit of ripe fruit and honey. Nose really matches the flavor, rosewater, a bit of honey, and apple skins. Its quite different. I love the idea behind it, and I love recreations of historical styles, but I just don’t think it all came together. chicagodri (1064), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 20, 2008 Bought this bottle thinking it was a sour...so I guess I was kind of disappointed. Spicy and fruity aroma. Pours a cloudy orange color with a thin head. Some sweet apple flavors...almost a little too sweet. Different and a decent beer though, just don’t know if I will try it again. mvcramer (229), Arlington, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 22, 2008 Something different... looks and tastes a bit like a cider to me. Nice crisp light golden pour with a frothy white head. Strong sugary apple notes and a bit of funk to the aroma as well. Taste is dry and somewhat crisp, with some sourness prevalent. If this one was billed as a sour, I wouldn’t have minded it, but I didn’t care much for the sour bite given what I expected. Good beer, not great. And like I said at the top - it’s something different. Davinci (296), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 18, 2008 Cloudy golden ale with small bubbly white head. Mild aroma of banana and a bit of funk. Also notes of red apples and a touch of apricot. Flavor is bright and bubbly initially. Crispy sweet apple flavors and a subdued banana note. Red apple peel flavor lingers after each sip. I prefered the sour edition I believe, but can’t find my notes on it unfortunately. Another good showing for the up and coming Italians. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 23, 2008 This was a different and very enjoyable beer. Pours orange with a patchy white head. The aroma is very perfumy and powdery with ginger and many other spices - very smooth aroma. Medium / thin body that’s fairly crisp with tight carbonation. The flavor starts very spiced, but it is gentle spices, unlike the normal sharp spices in most beers. The taste is much like the aroma with crispness and is very refreshing with citric lemon / orange. The finish is lightly powdery. Nice, unique and interesting.
