Commercial Description:
The masterpiece of the brewery. The beer that mostly encountered the favour among the customers at Le Baladin. Although one wouldn't believe that, it's the most alcoholic among all the productions. It originated from an old recipe created toward the end of the '800 following the style of the belgian abbey beers. Intense aroma of warm flowers, apricot and banana and hints of bitter almond. Agreeable, refreshing and quenching taste of apricot in syrup, almond cake and citrus fruits. Excellent the use of belgian selected hop during the fermentation process. This beer matches perfectly with ripen cheeses, biscuits and almond sweets.

Bottle, bought @ YNWA, Kolding. Pours a hazy orange with loads of small particles floating around. Head is foamy, fizzy, slightly geyish and frankly, rather unappealing. Aroma is caramel, fruity orange tartness. Some exotic fruits as well and a dose of yeast. High carbonation. Flavour is surprising compared to the aroma, thus is musky, barnyard, light tart. The fruitiness is subdued, matured and relatively mild. Alcohol is nowhere to be found. Extremely balanced, nowhere near pretty, but rather nice.

When I purchased this beer I was under the assumption (from the store owner) that it was a sour ale. Well, I guess it was a little sour, but in no way was this the Flemish sour I was looking for. Overall I thought it was drinkable but the light sour mixed with the heavier Belgian strong ale influences (fruit, yeast, etc) just did not work for me. I was looking for refreshing and got interesting.

750ml Bottle. Pours an amber red in color with yeast hovering near the bottom after settling. With sweet malt, apple, caramel, cinnamon, nuttiness, plum, marmalade jelly, and perfume on the nose. This beer does an average job of translating these appetizing notes. The palate is medium bodied. The flavor is a tad sour, but soon turns sweet with bitter fruit notes. Overall, the nose is more pleasing than the actual taste. Well, for me, that is.

one of the best beer of the "le baladin" brewery. A mild beer, fruity taste.

Thin offwhite head quickly disappears. Amber body. Fruity caramelly aroma with mild sweetish notes. Dense licorice and cocos taste with herbal caramelly notes. No real aftertaste. Nice! One of the best Italian micros so far. (0.3l draft at Isola della Birra.)

A really interesting beer, worth trying. Had the special opportunity to try this in Venice, as I stumbled upon a little cheese/meat shop that happened to have a few bottles on hand. Expensive but so is everything in Venice. Found the "Super" to be special indeed. Quite mild, as if the alcohol content was several percentage points below what it was. Farmhouse taste that imparts an artisan character: not an imitation of any Belgian brew I know. In a country ruled by wine, this is a fine addition to the Italian array of beverages.

[Bottle, thanks BDR] Pours hazy orange with floating particles and an off-white head. Aroma is sweet with apricot and yeast. The taste is light alcohol, yeast and more apricot. Medium mouthfeel with an average finish. Not bad but nothing too impressive.
