Flavor follows with some tart in the finish. PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Aug 20, 2006 Pours a murky deep orange with a white head that falls to a film. A sour fruit aroma. The flavor is slightly tart. Sweet malts upfront with a fruity sourness of cherries & pears on the palate and a late raisiny finish. Refreshing and balanced. DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA Jul 8, 2006 Pours a hazy orange color with a thin lacing head.Hugh fruit aroma with a slight floral hint.Sour fruits pretty much sum this up.Light mouthfeel with crispness and refreshing.A nice clean finish. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 7, 2006 Bottle from Super Saver. Pours turbid deep coppery/brown with 2-finger off-white head. Aroma of fruit, caramel malt, some peaty and nutty hints. The flavor is caramel malty, with big dark fruit. Complex palate that is on the dense side, and rather lively. As it warms, it gets a bit more tart, perhaps even approaching Flemish sour territory. Kinz (2179), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA May 27, 2006 Been wanting to try this for a long time. Saw it in Indianapolis, and I would have picked it up back then, but I just couldn’t cram anything more in my luggage. Delighted that this has finally arrived in Richmond, courtesy of Once Upon a Vine. Medium orange copper brown, small but lasting head. Distinctly dusty and slightly smokey aroma, rather unique actually. Flavor actually matches the description by the brewer, apricots and almonds abound, really not much like the nose. Definitely a note of sourness throughout. I want cake when I drink this. Not bad at all, I appreciate the clearly Belgian influence of this beer, yet it still has its own unique thing going on. tronraner (1906), Maryville, Tennessee, USA May 22, 2006 Bottle. Pours hazy orange with a huge whitish head and an intense pillar of bubbles from the bottom of the glass. The aroma has quite a bit of tangerine, some raisin, a little bit of bread, and some faint earthy alcohol. The flavor is quite well balanced, with some cookies, flowers, zest, honeycomb, and maybe a bit of cedar. The finish is quite subtle, including sugar, raw flowers, and an earthiness that holds over into the aftertaste. While far from the best constructed of this style, this is very very drinkable. motelpogo (4394), Plzen, Czech Republic May 9, 2006 bottled. hazy amber. toffee aroma, quite full-bodied and sweet with interesting yeast character. a textbook belgian strong ale
