Commercial Description:
The masterpiece of the brewery. The beer that mostly encountered the favour among the customers at Le Baladin. Although one wouldn't believe that, it's the most alcoholic among all the productions. It originated from an old recipe created toward the end of the '800 following the style of the belgian abbey beers. Intense aroma of warm flowers, apricot and banana and hints of bitter almond. Agreeable, refreshing and quenching taste of apricot in syrup, almond cake and citrus fruits. Excellent the use of belgian selected hop during the fermentation process. This beer matches perfectly with ripen cheeses, biscuits and almond sweets.

Bottle. Pours hazy orange with a huge whitish head and an intense pillar of bubbles from the bottom of the glass. The aroma has quite a bit of tangerine, some raisin, a little bit of bread, and some faint earthy alcohol. The flavor is quite well balanced, with some cookies, flowers, zest, honeycomb, and maybe a bit of cedar. The finish is quite subtle, including sugar, raw flowers, and an earthiness that holds over into the aftertaste. While far from the best constructed of this style, this is very very drinkable.

Pours a hazy medium orangish amber color. Aroma is lightly malty, hoppy, yeasty, with a touch of fruit. Flavor is a nice mixture of malts and fruits. Kind of thin in the finish, not something I would buy again at the price ($10.99).

Smells a little of alcohol but quite nice. Suprisingly light cloudy appearance. This starts with a pretty agreeable flavor, but it actually gets pretty dry rather quickly, which detracts the flavor that it begins with, really dragging it down.

Pours to a hazy, burnt orange color, with a thick and creamy white head, and a good carbonation. The nose on this beer is inviting with earthy aromas of yeast, paired with sweet malt, and estery fruit. The palate is soft, with flavors of sweet malt, and ripe estery fruit. This beer finishes with more sweet malt and fruity esters, then ends with a touch of vinous sourness that lingers. Very nice aperitif beer, and one that would match well with many Italian and Belgian dishes. I could see enjoying this one with a cabonara or waterzooi.

Light and tasty, this beer is sweet and has a fairly clean finish, nothing sticks to your mouth. Just a hint of hops at the end of the taste.

Sample BI Indy gathering 2/25/06 - Aroma is yeasty, sweet fruit, banana, and wet malt. Pours hazy yellow with small head and decent lacing. Flavor is cotton candy, malt, hops, almond, bread dough, and some spice. Palate is snappy and sweet. Interesting and tasty.

Orangey copper, with a hooj white head. Citrusy aroma - lemon lime, orange, etc . Nice flavor wheaty, with a surprising but definate note of strawberry. Other fuity notes play in, as well - apple, apricot, and melon. Crisp, dry finish. Very tasty. Purchased at McScrooges, Knoxville ($12.99)
