Commercial Description:
The masterpiece of the brewery. The beer that mostly encountered the favour among the customers at Le Baladin. Although one wouldn't believe that, it's the most alcoholic among all the productions. It originated from an old recipe created toward the end of the '800 following the style of the belgian abbey beers. Intense aroma of warm flowers, apricot and banana and hints of bitter almond. Agreeable, refreshing and quenching taste of apricot in syrup, almond cake and citrus fruits. Excellent the use of belgian selected hop during the fermentation process. This beer matches perfectly with ripen cheeses, biscuits and almond sweets.

Marcello’s Wine Market, Baton Rouge, La - 1 pt 9.4 fl oz bottle. Pours a murky, medium orange with a thin, but sticky white head - good lacing. Aroma is slightly funky, some overripe fruit notes, model glue and dried apricots. Flavor shows a little promise, starts off with a bit of green tea, finishes with some dried fruit notes - apricots again - like in the aroma, but nothing really jumps out. Finishes slighlty metallic. Mouthfeel is slighlty thick and sticky. Expected more.

(750ml bottle) Pours a lightly cloudy burnt orange body with a large beige head. Aroma of caramel, plastic, grass, and citrus. Medium bodied with a chaulky finish. Flavor of malt, dates, and mild spices.

Poured mid brown with a tight off white head. Nose sour.. citrus and wood and earth. Tasted rubbery and had a bit of lawn mixed with malts. A bit watered down tasting and not all that great to drink.

28 Jan 2005 - Good spiritous hop fruit aroma. Orange brown colour, cream coloured head, sheet lacing. Good hoppy complexity, medium malt and simplistic flavour. Tangy nice mouthfeel. Not a great a bitter celery bitter finish.

This beer was very expensive, and very underwhelming. I was extremely disappointed in how thin and lacking of flavors it was.

750mL bottle. Slightly murk medium orange with creamy head and lacing. Fruity nose with some orange notes. Nice creamy texture. The flavor has a fruity and spicy charater that is very Belgian-like. Very nice beer.

Hazy amber, off white thin creamy head. Nose on this held hints of fuzzy fruits, golden raisin, spices, pear, and grains, with lighter tones of cooked apple. Flavor was fruity, lightly sweetened, with a decent hop bitterness rounding it out. Full bodied, light carbonation, spiced pear and raisin finish. Nice, but nothing phenomenal...

First of all, this was the hardest beer of my life so far to open. I questioned the power of my pathetic opener. Anyway, pours a golden orange color. Very thick beer, couldn’t even see through the glass. Smells sorta like bananas. For me the flavor was just ok, despite how complex it was. This was really really sweet, but the alcohol was also noticeable. It was $13 (which is lower than others here) and was still grossly overpriced. I guess it’s worth trying, but definitely not for rebuying (it rhymes).
