Commercial Description:
The masterpiece of the brewery. The beer that mostly encountered the favour among the customers at Le Baladin. Although one wouldn't believe that, it's the most alcoholic among all the productions. It originated from an old recipe created toward the end of the '800 following the style of the belgian abbey beers. Intense aroma of warm flowers, apricot and banana and hints of bitter almond. Agreeable, refreshing and quenching taste of apricot in syrup, almond cake and citrus fruits. Excellent the use of belgian selected hop during the fermentation process. This beer matches perfectly with ripen cheeses, biscuits and almond sweets.

750ml Bottle. Pour is an effervescent orange with plenty of bubbles. The head is a thin white layer of cream and lace. A pretty beer. The aroma is rich and malty with a good level of spice, but not overwhelming at all. This is subtle and beautiful. I’m surprised by the delicate sweetness, but the carbonation and spice cleans it up. The ratings are pretty well mixed, but I like this.

750ml bottle which looks to be bottles in Feb.05, and I have just cracked it open late Oct.08. Not exactly recommended or desirable, let’s just think of it as the Kulminator edition. I had this one years ago and remember it quite fondly. I’m going to assume this one has morphed into something new in it’s age oldness. Murky brown-amber color. Intense sour aroma of brandy and green apples. The mouthfeel is watery and devolved, with lots of sweet fruity characteristics. Meady, it leaves a sour twangy aftertaste. The aroma is really the downfall of this beer, like most past their prime. The rating only reflects the aged version, will re-rate with a new hopefully.

750 ml bottle. Hazy, light orange body under a creamy, almost nitro-like, off-white head. Sweet aromas of spiced apple, candy, apricot, banana, dried fig, honey and flowers. Slight mustiness underneath it all. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic and lightly bitter. The finish remains sweet with a very light bitterness. Medium body and watery texture that thickens through the finish and turns more velvety. Lively carbonation. The flavors lingers for a good long while. Delicious.

750 ml green bottle poured a hazy orange with fishys and a lasting creamy ivory head. Aromas of sour citrus, apple, melon, light straw and light spice. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a lightly dry slightly tart finish. Flavors of sour citrus, aplle, apricot and light spice with a smooth lightly dry lightly tart fruity finish.

Sampler at The Monial de la Biere 08 in Montreal. The color is a dark and hazy honey with a beige head. The aroma is malty but also sour. The taste is of malt, cereal wheat fruits like raisin with a sour finish.

Purchased on sale at Sams in Durham! Hazy amber pour with a tan head. Yeasty aroma. Sweet malts with a slightly acidic finish. I feel like I get a sour tease on this

Hazy orange. Small, fast head. Aroma: Yeast, fruit. Flavor: Fruit, yeast, alcahol almost coying. Fruity sour finish. While this gets a fairly high rating, I’m not really a big fan of this beer. This gets the same rating as Mendocino Talon and I personally don’t think it’s near as good.

Aroma is slightly fruity, with a little alcohol coming out. The appearance is a hazy orange, lots of particulate matter, tan foam. The flavor is a only a little sweet, sour, and yeasty. The palate is fairly dry. Not bad
