Commercial Description:
The masterpiece of the brewery. The beer that mostly encountered the favour among the customers at Le Baladin. Although one wouldn't believe that, it's the most alcoholic among all the productions. It originated from an old recipe created toward the end of the '800 following the style of the belgian abbey beers. Intense aroma of warm flowers, apricot and banana and hints of bitter almond. Agreeable, refreshing and quenching taste of apricot in syrup, almond cake and citrus fruits. Excellent the use of belgian selected hop during the fermentation process. This beer matches perfectly with ripen cheeses, biscuits and almond sweets.

Appearance: Pours a clear, medium amber body with a white head. Smell: Sweet pale malt aroma with a vague fruitiness (figs, maybe) to it and light yeasty notes. Taste: A light malt sweetness is instantly stolen away by a dry, funky sourness and the flavor of musty apple juice. Hints of a light spiced red wine. Quick, thin finish. Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Moderately carbonated. Slightly watery. Drinkability: The flavors run a bit too thin for me. I preferred the Wayan to this one.

Sampled at the ’09 RBPTE, courtesy of mtoast. Breaded toasty aroma with light yeasty character, some alcohol and notes of cherry. Dark amber cloudy, slightly murky, with a small frothy off-white head. Medium thin body with average carbonation and a chalky finish. Moderate sweetness with quite a kick of acidity in there, too. Lactic sourness, woody and a bit rubbery. Tinge of sour milk.

Smells a little of alcohol but quite nice. Suprisingly light cloudy appearance. This starts with a pretty agreeable flavor, but it actually gets pretty dry rather quickly, which detracts the flavor that it begins with, really dragging it down.

Fruity nose and taste best characterizes this beer. Hazy dark orange color and a frothy head. Chewy malt body, breadlike at times, with hints of oranges and apricots and yeast. Some alcohol noticeable. On the sweet side and resembles a Belgian beer.

Pours a dark orange color with suspended chunks. Earthy yeast and sharp citric clash in the nose. Full bodied and smooth. Malty sweetness near the end that fades into a fusil aroma. I would never have guessed this beer was made in Italy. Way too expensive ($US 13.49/ 750ml)

Pours a hazy orange -amber color that sits under a thick tan head. This beer literally overflows the bottle because it is so carbonated. This beer has an interesting, subtle spiced aroma, but is dominated by aromas of orange and apple. The taste is lightly sweet up front and the finish is quite fruity. This has a nice sharp middle to it that is amplified by the tongue tingling carbonation. I get notes of apple orange and cinnamon. The finish has an astringent note to it, as well as a bit of spicy hotness. This beer is definitely quite nice, I like the contrasting flavors in this. Italy is definitely starting to do some interesting things.

Bottle (75 cl) from Systembolaget, shared with gnoff, deft, and a non-ratebeerian dude. Hazy amber with floating yeast particles, fizzy off-white head. Fruity aroma with notes of marzipan, chewing gum (Hubba Bubba), and earthy hops. Medium bodied, fizzy carbonation. Well balanced, dry finish.

Orange yeasty nose but not very overwhelming. Hazy Orange with a nice little frothy head. Alcohol and yeast, orange taste. Chalky. Medium lasting aftertaste. Ooh nice. Ce bella!
