Commercial Description:
The masterpiece of the brewery. The beer that mostly encountered the favour among the customers at Le Baladin. Although one wouldn't believe that, it's the most alcoholic among all the productions. It originated from an old recipe created toward the end of the '800 following the style of the belgian abbey beers. Intense aroma of warm flowers, apricot and banana and hints of bitter almond. Agreeable, refreshing and quenching taste of apricot in syrup, almond cake and citrus fruits. Excellent the use of belgian selected hop during the fermentation process. This beer matches perfectly with ripen cheeses, biscuits and almond sweets.

Amber color; creamy big head. Malty aroma, and quite sweet malty flavor. Too yeasty. Ok, but quite simple.

2002-09-10, bottle, 7-4-7-4-15=37
Amber colour, hazy. Light aroma, some alcohol. Lightly fruity when warmer.
Pretty sweet, but the body structure is not convincing; some malt, too much alcohol, fruity, dry banana. Too sweet. Strong bitter final.
The note improves when the beer warms a little (alternative evaluation, first impression 5-4-6-4-13), the aroma is fruitier and so the flavour, but forget any complexity!
I will soon try the bottled version.
They claim it was presented at the GBBF-2002 as the best Italian beer; my suggestion is: go and try the Birrificio Italiano Tipopils.

Bottled 750ml (BB 04/2010). Hazy amber color, steady small off-white head. Aroma has orange peels, peach, strawberries and yeast. Foamy mouthfeel. Quite sweet flavor. Strawberry juice, banana, Belgian yeast, spices. Spicey alcohol in the aftertaste. Not really exiting or complex, but overall quite nice Belgian strong ale for dessert.

It’s red-golden with a snow storm of sediment and a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of fruit, malt, yeast and raisin. The mouth feel is fizzy. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, fruit, mango, papaya, raisin, light candy sugar and yeast. It’s soft and quite harmonic.

Bottle, bought @ YNWA, Kolding. Pours a hazy orange with loads of small particles floating around. Head is foamy, fizzy, slightly geyish and frankly, rather unappealing. Aroma is caramel, fruity orange tartness. Some exotic fruits as well and a dose of yeast. High carbonation. Flavour is surprising compared to the aroma, thus is musky, barnyard, light tart. The fruitiness is subdued, matured and relatively mild. Alcohol is nowhere to be found. Extremely balanced, nowhere near pretty, but rather nice.

(750ml bottle) Pours a lightly cloudy burnt orange body with a large beige head. Aroma of caramel, plastic, grass, and citrus. Medium bodied with a chaulky finish. Flavor of malt, dates, and mild spices.

Dark, hazy amber with a very small off white head. Some sediment. Aromas and tastes of spices and fruits. Alcohol content well hidden. Fizzy body. I enjoyed this beer but after mail order, it was on the expensive side.
