Commercial Description:
The masterpiece of the brewery. The beer that mostly encountered the favour among the customers at Le Baladin. Although one wouldn't believe that, it's the most alcoholic among all the productions. It originated from an old recipe created toward the end of the '800 following the style of the belgian abbey beers. Intense aroma of warm flowers, apricot and banana and hints of bitter almond. Agreeable, refreshing and quenching taste of apricot in syrup, almond cake and citrus fruits. Excellent the use of belgian selected hop during the fermentation process. This beer matches perfectly with ripen cheeses, biscuits and almond sweets.

Bottled: Orange coloured. Unclear. Beige medium sized head. Yeast, fruit and light sourness in the aroma. Flavour is spiced and light sweet. Has citrusy and sour notes. Is quite watery and not as complex and tasty as I expected. Disappointing beer.

750ml bottle, age unknown. cloudy caramel amber colored body, some particulate matter suspended. nose is honey coated apricots, mild, floral bananas, mild peach, mild yogurt and a light note of cigarette tobacco (unsmoked, not ashy or burnt). chewy and full texture, syrupy and sweet throughout, hints of reduced honey with lemon zest and lavender, along with a pale and muted notebook paper flavor (yeast). good but not great.

Enjoyably drinkable, but not remarkable. It pours a hazy yellowed orange with a creamy off-white head that dissipates rather quickly. The nose is pleasant, a slightly pungent sour fruit smell with a bouquet of summer flowers. Lively in the mouth, it has a simple citric fruit flavor, tart oranges mostly, with a bit of floral hop bitterness. Certainly one of the best Italian beers that I’ve had to date.

Cloudy amber color with a light tan head that produces a small amount of lace. Aroma of dry honey. This one really needs some warmth before it should be sampled! When cold it tastes like a malt liquor with caramel malt added to the grain bill. Aromas, sweetness, flavors, and finish come out as it warms. Aroma of of stewed apricots in a light brandy. Flavors of pineapple, kiwis and strawberries. It poured thick and seems to thicken as it warms. Towards the end of the bottle I am starting to get some white yeast floaties. Alcohol comes to the front in the finish, but exits to a pleasent light toasted almond and pecan pie linger. Alot of carbonation in this one - I find myself belching after every few quaffs. The burps are even good, with a touch of flowers and vanilla. I didn’t have the courage to ask the wife if she though they smelled the same. Once again I have to say I enjoy big bottles in a good beer as the beer changes from start to finish - cold to warm. Serve this with some asiago cheese and you’ll have a hit at your next beer tasting.

Orange color, light lacing & little head. Nose is yeasty with esters & failed hops. Decently performing malts but shut down but the tangy carbonation.

Bottle. Poured hazy amber/orange color with a large frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate spicy fruity malty aroma. Light to medium body with a slick texture. Medium balanced flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable complex beer.

Bottle from Super Saver. Pours turbid deep coppery/brown with 2-finger off-white head. Aroma of fruit, caramel malt, some peaty and nutty hints. The flavor is caramel malty, with big dark fruit. Complex palate that is on the dense side, and rather lively. As it warms, it gets a bit more tart, perhaps even approaching Flemish sour territory.
