Oct 19, 2002 Head is initially large, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium amber, dense particles of all sizes, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (cookie, caramel), moderately hoppy (flowers, lemon, perfume), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of orange, clove, honey, and alcohol. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation. Well-hidden alcohol and a joy to smell, but rather sweet and thin.

Dec 24, 2007 Bottle. Fruity and floral aromas, along with a bit of caramel. Color is sort of apricot and the white head stayed awhile, though it did not lace. Full bodied with fizzy/creamy carbonation. Starts a little citric sour, some light stone fruits, touch of funk. The finish is dry, nigh astringent, with some citrus and a moderate amount of hop bitter. Leaves my mouth rather tingly. It just gets better as time proceeds.

Apr 27, 2004 Initial nose of ginger and peaches. A long lasting small white head. Dark copper with some sediment and cloudiness. A nice slightly sour apple taste. Also has pepper, ginger, orange and some slight yeast. Nice creamy and full mouthfeel. This is on par with other Belgian Strong ales. Very impressive.

May 3, 2005 Floral, lightly phenolic, icing sugar, doughy, lightly spicy, lavender, vanilla, marzipan aroma. Opaque tan-brown with a shy white head that recedes quickly to a light ring. Plenty of yeast in suspension. Very floral and malty with a strong vanilla character. Peppery, spruce-like spices emerge more in the finish along with a black tea, tannin leafiness that lasts on the tongue. Fruity orange-pineapple-cherry notes. Medium body with fair carbonation. Bottle enjoyed with beerbuzzmontreal, MartinT, Olivier_MTL, Rastacouere and Yowie.
