| 0.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 2/5 | 1/10 | 2/5 | 1/20 | Mar 17, 2007 Cloudy dark-orange body topped by a little white ring. INFECTION. Drain pour. Some sour/acidity notes on the nose and in the taste. The oily vinegary salad dressing flavour crushes the underlying fruity notes. I got a bad bottle (bought at Half Time NY). Will retry and re-rate if offered a sample. What I could make up of it despite the infected taste didn’t seem interesting enough to justify buying another bottle. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 1, 2004 Better than Nora, I'll say that much. Nora was a pretty big disappointment to me, but Super Baladin mostly lives up to the hype, so if you're in the market for a pricey 750ml bottle of Italian 'Belgian Strong Ale', this is the one for you. To my knowldege, no other Italian brewery attempts the Belgian style, so Baladin doesn't have a lot of competition. Nice off-white head on top of cloudy copper liquid. Spices in the nose. Tastes of phenols, citrus, spice (pepper), herbs and some light sweetness. Perhaps overly carbonated. Very pleasant as I drink more and more of it. The 8% abv is quite well-hidden. I strongly recommend you choose this over the Baladin Nora as it is far better and more complex. thebeertourist (2820), Oslo, Norway
