2002-09-10, bottle, 7-4-7-4-15=37 Amber colour, hazy. Light aroma, some alcohol. Lightly fruity when warmer. Pretty sweet, but the body structure is not convincing; some malt, too much alcohol, fruity, dry banana. Too sweet. Strong bitter final. The note improves when the beer warms a little (alternative evaluation, first impression 5-4-6-4-13), the aroma is fruitier and so the flavour, but forget any complexity! I will soon try the bottled version. They claim it was presented at the GBBF-2002 as the best Italian beer; my suggestion is: go and try the Birrificio Italiano Tipopils. heykevin (1269), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 3, 2004 Luminous golden amber. Spicy aroma--hints of mulled cider, and more strong unidentifiable spiciness. SOme bananas in the flavor as well as more spice and rather fruity. Yeast profile is not overly estery, though. Spiciness grows a bit tiresome at the end. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

Caramel and malted barley flavor, finishing with some sweet oranges. Not much going on, but decent. dberger624 (1028), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 27, 2008 Malt and fruit aroma. The flavor has wheat, yeast, some brett character and an herbal quality, but no sourness really. Cloudy orange appearance. Sweet, good but not extraordinary. ChristianScheffel (4632), Odense, Denmark

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 12, 2005 Enjoyably drinkable, but not remarkable. It pours a hazy yellowed orange with a creamy off-white head that dissipates rather quickly. The nose is pleasant, a slightly pungent sour fruit smell with a bouquet of summer flowers. Lively in the mouth, it has a simple citric fruit flavor, tart oranges mostly, with a bit of floral hop bitterness. Certainly one of the best Italian beers that I’ve had to date.
