Comments: Also a 2003 bottle bought in Milano. A pleasant, mature, sour Belgian style with a very spicy yeast profile and a juicy, orangey palate.
fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Sep 10, 2007 Super du Baladin Reserve 2003, 4 years old Cloudy orange to light amber color. The aroma is spicy, peppery, with a very light sourness. The body is thinner than expected, with some malt flavor, residual sweetness and pepper spicyness, but also a light sourness that I wonder how much desired it was… Quite fresh for a beer of 4 years ago. The result is a beer of some average complexity, refreshing, but not exceptional. Grovlam (3790), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 2, 2007 Bottle vintage 2003 and my #1400. [Courtesy of fiulijn, another great session @ Papsoe] Alex delivered this very special bottle from Baladin. Large bubbly off-white head that mostly diminished. Cloudy golden color with a fair display of lacework. Aroma was yeast, light vinegar, pepper, spice, caramel, fruit. Medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation. Light to moderated sweet flavor with balancing acidic. Light spice sweet finish. 31-08-2007 yespr (11613), Copenhagen O, Denmark Sep 1, 2007 75 cL bottle. Pours deep orange to light brown, unfiltered. Slight fruity hops nose, minor malty caramel note. Slight citric/sour flavour a bit biere de garde like - but quite balanced with the malt to give an enjoyable flavour. Fruity and dry finish.
