Commercial Description:
Le Baladin Wayan is made of 17 different ingredients (barley, wheat, spelt, oats, rye, different types of hops and many different spices besides coriander. Teo calls it a "Saison" but it is certainly his personal definition of a saison. Aroma and palate are rather complex, ie it takes some time to find your way through it, so to speak. The different hops are barely noticeable. The balance and bitterness is by a high defree provided by those many spices some of which are very, very unusual in brewing. This quite unusual combination of spices and herbs greatly impacts the finish which again is very different from "regular" saison-style ales. Food pairings: Fish, salmon, salads, filet mignon and other steaks, Thai food.

Bomber of smooth drinking Belgian, neither too sweet nor bitter. Pours thick foamy orangy off-white head and orangey-white body. Above-average creamy mouthfeel. Mild yeast understated spicy aroma. At the 5.5% stated on the bottle, most drinkable

Too bad, I was excited to try this. Clear medium gold, slightly fizzy head lasted surprisingly well. Aroma was nice, lots of orange, faint coriander, a bit of ginger, inviting, even some pleasant spice. The flavor however did not match at all. Very thin in the mouth, very light note of ginger and coriander, and an abrupt, thin finish that was almost like a very mildly infected lager. Not good. I wonder if this was a bad bottle perhaps, but I can’t justify another purchase at this point.

Bottle. High fluffy but lasting white head. Hazy light yellow body. Sweet banana aroma. Light and pretty watery fruity flavor with low carbonation and a long sweet aftertaste.

golden orange pour, bright as a marching band trombone, and peppered like a plate of fetucinni with bits of grist, trub, and the scattered super nova remnants of a vast yeast colony; yet for all that flotsam, it remains almost clear. the firm head, with both the color and fidelity of a pug dog, makes a worthy crown. wayan smells like a coconut husk door mat with a peculiar straw and chaff essence; but moreover, this mat was probably used outside a downtown strip club with it’s disagreeable notes of something akin to cigarette butts and years of spilled watered-down parasol punches--strong on fruit but short on booze. it’s got a bit of ginger, damp terry towel, banana, almond, baker’s yeast, and white dutch cheese. the animated carbonation chatters away on the fore-tongue, while a gator ade kind of sweetness swims over the palate with a watery feel. wayan is a grainy ginger ale, perfumed with every bath oil extract known to womankind, with virtually no hop effect, and finally with a buzz and complexity that would bore a boweevil. big fat thanks to ME for totting this pompous burden all the way back from italy. merda, i could’ve brought another bottle of braulio instead.

Bottle @ You Never Walk Alone, Kolding. Pours a cloudy golden colour with a nice good lasting off-white head. Sweet and fruity aroma with oranges and bits of spices. Good mouthfeel. The flavour is dry, bitter and fruity with spices, herbs and some sweetness. Good dry fruity bit spiced bitter finish. Tasty brew indeed.

Pours hazy gold into a tulip. Fluffy white head leaves slight lacing as it recedes. Fantome-like aspirin aromas. Crisp and fruity with a lasting pepper finish.
