Amazing flavor of dried fruits, pear, peach, cherry and lingering banana peel and banana. Finish reminds me of a tawny port, with notes of macadamia nut, pecan and caramel. It’s very, very impressive. Complex, dramatically flavorful. Extremely well hidden alcohol (I detect no alcohol flavor at all) Immensely satisfying, but unfortunately, this one empties the wallet too fast. lithy (1800), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Pour is dark ruby brown with absolutely no head. Some bubbles but no carbonation. Some fine sediment sneaks in. Strong alcohol aromas, woody, tobacco, vinuous. Very sweet on the tongue hints at grapes and figs. Excellently done oxidation. Nice port flavors with a warming alcohol finish. Harsh aromas but an incredible taste, smooth and sticky but not cloying. Expensive at 40 bucks but worth it for an experience. pilsnerrogge (1791), Finspång, Sweden

It is very smooth and taste hit you. taste is mildly sticky. but the flavors is dark and rich with some wood overtones. This is a once in a life time to try, don’t be afraid to give this a go sneagrams3 (1759), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Hazy with a cognac hue and viscosity. Minimal head. Very complex aromas with a lot of fruity esters and raisins, surrounded by vinuous notes and a good burn in the nostrils. Super full bodied with flavors of apples and port wine. Mild astringency with a Mead like flavor. Solid and worth trying. But not at that price point. daniele (1738), Italy

Aroma was very nice pit fruit with plenty sweetness. Tast was very nice aswell. Sweet caramel with more of the fruit. Very tast and easy to go down. I think this is the best brew I have had from Italy yet. JB175 (1664), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 30, 2009 2004 bottle - Nice looking reddish color, very port-like with no head. Aroma of big sugar, oak, over ripe fruits, sherry, and port. Flavor is quite sweet - a lot like GLI’s 275th with overwhelming sugar, sweet and ripe tropical fruits, oxidation/sherry, wood. Quite nice all around, but for the price you can get almost a case of Old Horizontal, which I would much prefer. Nice for a one time treat.
