Commercial Description:
A beer brewed and matured to 13.5% ABV going to 14.5% in next productions. Malts: Pilsner Durst, aromatic Dingemans, caramunich 140 Dingemans. Hops: Hallertau Hernsbrucker, Spalt Select and East Kent Golding. Brewing process: the wort is hyperconcentrated then boiled for two hous and half. Primary fermentation for 25 in steel vessels. Then after a sterile filtration (to eliminate primary yeast strains) the beer is transfered in a steel vessel with transparent membrane and a "oxygen hat". Afeter several tasting from 6 to 24 months later (it depends on the oxidation velocity, very inconsistant!) the brewer decides when it’s time to bottle in 50cl. champagne shape bottles with good quality cork. The production is very limited. Three productions brewed during two years will be available from October 2006.

Bottle. Sampled at dark lord day luckily as i never wanted to pay the price tag. Smells so sweet, like liquid candy and ripe dark fruit. Plum rasin, and glucose is everywhere in this beer. Thickly coats your mouth with lots of fruit sugar.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of medium sized clear colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a semi-opaque with fine particulate softly carbonated dark brown colored body and a poor lacing. The aroma was vinous. The medicinal mildly vinous mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish with a vinous aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of alcohol strong vinous hops and dark malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

Poured a dark amber color, with no head or lacing. Aroma of maple, smoke, roast, a bit of chocolate, wood, and some vanilla. Taste of wood, nuts, smoke, roasted malts, with tons of maple syrup, vanilla, brown sugar, some caramel, and alcohol in the finish.

JJPm’s summer party 07. Pours a mostly clear light amber, almost flat and no head. Aroma is full of sherry oxidation- very solvent-like, some junmai daiginjo sake and cedar notes as well- tons of alcohol burn in the nose. More alcohol- gin/vodka notes, very sweet but more sherry sweet than caramel sweetness, light spices and pepper but that may be from the alcohol tingliness. Oxidized paper in the finish with a sweet alcohol bite. Too over the top and the forced oxidation obviously hurts the beer.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, biegaman, mds, Radek Kliber, tupalev & the rest of the gang. Vintage 2004. Pours a clear and flat-looking amber-brown with no head. Lovely aroma of caramel malt, wood, dark fruit, nuts and alcohol. Flavour: Wow! Reminded me a little of maple syrup with caramel malt, dark fruit, wood, some bitterness and alcohol -- complex and very flavourful. Goes down smooth for such a high alcohol beer. Medium bodied, syrupy mouthfeel. Just awesome, I loved this!

2004 vintage, purchased at Liquor Max in Loveland, CO. Pours hazy brown with a spare, fizzy, light brown head, diminishing with spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, toffee), average hops (flowers, perfume), average yeast (dough) with notes of light alcohol, raisin, date, port, and maple syrup. Full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, heavy sweetness, light acidity, and moderate bitterness. A definite sipper that gets better as it warms closer to room temperature.
