Tastes in August 2005, during GBBF 2005: Copper coloured. Some first impression reminded me of cognac. After that the beer got more bready and sweeter. Through the beer alcohol is noticable and adds a warming sensation. An interesting dessert beer, with a very vinous character.

Shared out of my drunken stash with scufflman, abervaatyo0er, skyview, and who know who else. not the magnificence of the utopias. but good. damn. i wish i could actually see at the moment, but thankfully that’s not an issue thanks to touch typing. sweet malt nose. caramel color. cloyingly sweet body. I could do with less sweetness, bu this will do. A little oak with the usual suspects. Not bad but probably better in a few years.

Bottle. Translucent orange with no head like a cognac. Very pleasant aroma - rich thickness consisting of caramel, sugar, and sweet chocolate. Nice warming alcohol that is short lived. Plum fruitiness in a complex woody palate. Really nice.

Corked 375, 2005. Thanks, After4ever. Pours hazy orange amber with no head. Luscious citrus, toffee and vanilla aroma. Full body, no carbonation. Incredibly sweet taste of citrus, apple, grape, caramel and wood. Seems to be way under-attenuated and unbalanced.

’04 Bottle thanks to gunhaver, rating #1900: Poured a reddish brown with little to no head. Aroma is sweet aged fruit, caramel malt, and boozy alcohol. Taste is amazing with sweet caramel malt, sticky sugary fruit, and more of that boozy alcohol to keep the mouth warm. This is the best Italian beer I have ever had and really left my mouth waiting for more.
