Hops: Hallertau Hernsbrucker, Spalt Select and East Kent Golding. Brewing process: the wort is hyperconcentrated then boiled for two hous and half. Primary fermentation for 25 in steel vessels. Then after a sterile filtration (to eliminate primary yeast strains) the beer is transfered in a steel vessel with transparent membrane and a "oxygen hat". Thanks gunhaver for the share. Holy mackarel, this beer was amazing. 2004 vintage. Pours clear brown with a minimalists’ kind of head. Nose is boozy as hell- burn nose hairs off boozy with contributions from raisins, sugar, ripe fruit, cherry, vanilla, maple, malt, and some nuttiness- many characteristics of an icewine. Flavor is silky smooth with malt, vanilla, brown sugar, raisin, and caramel. I agree with sebletitje in this being like a liquor. The best Italian beer I have ever had. Simply amazing.

Thanks gunhaver for this one, you rock man. 2004 bottle. Finally found a somewhat more affordable version of Utopias for 1/2 the abv. Pours light reddish-amber no head and some sticky golden lacing. Aroma is boozy and loaded with caramel, brown sugar, but it remains overly sweet. Taste, sweet drinks like a sweet liquor with plenty of brown sugar, caramel, light notes of fruits (pear) and some subtle chestnut toward the finish. Light body. Slow sipper, this is one amazing brew.

A big thanks to Ibrew2or3,Quake1028,and Degarth for trhis one. This one changed my opinion of barley wines. Pours a beautiful copper collor with no head to speak of. Taste of candied fruits, figs even a hint of apples. Palate was spot on thick and coating. All and all one the best beverages i have had to date.

2004 vintage bottle from Beverage Castle (Tampa, FL). Pours a syrupy, menacing tobacco brown color with no head. Very light to no carbonation, but a slight pop from the bottle when cracked. Aroma is sweet and boozy with a complex array of ripe dark fruits, rum-soaked raisins, brown sugar, molasses, vanilla, wood, some vinous qualities. Flavor is sweet and syrupy with sweet toffee, caramel, ripe dark fruit, overripe apple, vanilla, wood, brown sugar, bourbon-like character. Generally medium body with a syrupy sweet, and strongly alcohol finish.

2005. pours a flat gold copper with no head. Heavy alchohol on the aroma, the strong scent gives a hesitancy to take the first sip, but the alchohol is stronger on the nose, and it is not has hot as the aroma suggests, very well balanced and much smoother than what is going thur your mind as you bring the glass to your lips, the first sip is the hottest, but once it gets on your tongue each subsequent sip gets better, where the last sip was the best and I was begging for more. Once your palate adjusts you can notice the subtlties in this beer and it is DARN good, and a wonderful drink. Mouthwatering so, very enjoyable, and ag reat conversation ehancer. good stuff.
