Amazing flavor of dried fruits, pear, peach, cherry and lingering banana peel and banana. Finish reminds me of a tawny port, with notes of macadamia nut, pecan and caramel. It’s very, very impressive. Complex, dramatically flavorful. Extremely well hidden alcohol (I detect no alcohol flavor at all) Immensely satisfying, but unfortunately, this one empties the wallet too fast. Papsoe (15103), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Intense aroma of overripe fruit and honey - almost mead-like in character with the alcohol already showing in the nose. Very full-bodied, completely flat, intense accents of nuts, caramel flower pollen and overripe fruit - perhaps a little licorice also. No bitterness but a warming alcohol finish. 220309 mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA

The nose was big caramel and molasses, almost has some saki characters to it. The taste is still pretty smooth even for how big of a beer it is. Definitely get some honey and caramel in the taste. Pretty sweet. Has some mead characters to it, especially in the body. I’d like to try this one after it ages some. HogTownHarry (4025), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada

Poured clear, oily mahogany with a small tan head. Strongly alcoholic aroma, wonderfully woody, thick nutty almost burnt caramel malt - very rich, with some tart fig and not quite ripe apricot. The taste - man this is nice! - maple syrup, roast caramel malt, lighter alcohol presence and the tart fruit and a bit of herbal character enter in the finish. Thick, syrupy mouthfeel, long silky finish - I loved this; it’s not too much like beer, but I loved it, more like a soft, sweet sherry; excellent. Diogène (572), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada

Aroma is very sweet with maple syrup, wood, alcohol and hops. Flavor is also very sweet with a lot of maple syrup and wood, caramel, fruits and hops. Full body with a liquorous mouthfeel. Excellent! Aroma of big sugar, oak, over ripe fruits, sherry, and port. Flavor is quite sweet - a lot like GLI’s 275th with overwhelming sugar, sweet and ripe tropical fruits, oxidation/sherry, wood. Quite nice all around, but for the price you can get almost a case of Old Horizontal, which I would much prefer. Nice for a one time treat. stefanje (948), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA

I think Toncatcher brought it. A orange-brown pour with minimal head. The nose was big and bold with fine brandy and cognac. The flavor was overtly sweet with cotton candy, rock candy, lightly roasted malts and some pears. The brandy so prominent in the nose did really materialize in the flavor. The mouthfeel is smooth, full and satisfying. The finish was long and semi-sweet with a bit of that brandy flavor making a re-appearance and nicely book-casing the beer. Overall: I don’t normally care much for sweet stuff but this one passes as quite good.
