Thanks man. Pours a beige-brown color with no head and some legs. A super sweet port-like nose. The flavor was very sweet and very hot; like a aged port, molasses, caramel, wood, brown sugar and a boozy sweet finish. It was also somehow, quite easy to drink, especially due to the slick oily mouthfeel. Very enjoyable. lithy (1850), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Pour is dark ruby brown with absolutely no head. Some bubbles but no carbonation. Some fine sediment sneaks in. Strong alcohol aromas, woody, tobacco, vinuous. Very sweet on the tongue hints at grapes and figs. Excellently done oxidation. Nice port flavors with a warming alcohol finish. Harsh aromas but an incredible taste, smooth and sticky but not cloying. Expensive at 40 bucks but worth it for an experience. Mads Langtved (2246), Copenhagen K, Denmark

Copper coloured. Some first impression reminded me of cognac. After that the beer got more bready and sweeter. Through the beer alcohol is noticable and adds a warming sensation. An interesting dessert beer, with a very vinous character. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Very pleasant aroma - rich thickness consisting of caramel, sugar, and sweet chocolate. Nice warming alcohol that is short lived. Plum fruitiness in a complex woody palate. Really nice. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 19, 2009 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of medium sized clear colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a semi-opaque with fine particulate softly carbonated dark brown colored body and a poor lacing. The aroma was vinous. The medicinal mildly vinous mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish with a vinous aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of alcohol strong vinous hops and dark malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again. zathrus13 (1317), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA

Flavor is syrup, fruit, malt, port, honey and some alcohol. Body is thinner than expected. Lack of carbonation hurts it a little. Thanks to dsnowden for this bottle. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 4, 2008 2004 vintage, purchased at Liquor Max in Loveland, CO. Pours hazy brown with a spare, fizzy, light brown head, diminishing with spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, toffee), average hops (flowers, perfume), average yeast (dough) with notes of light alcohol, raisin, date, port, and maple syrup. Full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, heavy sweetness, light acidity, and moderate bitterness. A definite sipper that gets better as it warms closer to room temperature.
