Pours a white, four finger-head that vanishes quickly leaving traces of lace. Clear, golden amber. Light carbonation and light bodied. Nose is faintly hoppy/skunky. Starts sweet, some hops mix in, clean finish. Easy to drink when its hot like today (91). $1.19 for a 12oz bottle from Northend Superette Manchester, NH. jcwattsrugger (5582), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jul 22, 2005 pours a thin white head. Color is a yellow-gold. Aroma has a scent of lime. Flavor is good and nice carbonation level. Finishes a bit flat-metallic. Almost as good as Tsing Tao. waeltzy (53), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 8, 2005 I suppose there exists a bit of historical significance surrounding Ballantine. Im only 21 so im not totally familiar with the great Ballantine empire of the 1950’s, 60’s, etc. The beer was OK. Drinkable with what seemed like a distant hint of hops. Still a bit sweet (corn, etc) and cheap. My dad told me about the old three rings. Good to see something still bears this famous name. ruggedman (626), Portland, Maine, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jun 7, 2005 Slightly skunky tasting, quite crisp though. Fizzy yellow color, yeah that pretty much sums it up, fizzy white beers belong at nascar events, not in my pint glass. lagermonkey (597), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 9, 2005 Pours an extremely pale fizzy gold with virtually no head. Quickly has no head at all. Smells of pale malt and light hops. A bit of skunk which I will attribute to the green bottle.
Taste is creamy and light. Very light hops aftertaste. Light fruity flavors. Very crisp. A bit of skunk in the taste as well. Body is light, light, light. Just evaporates off the tongue.
Very, very drinkable brew and represents itself well for a cheap beer. I think this would definitely be better in a can without the skunky aroma. (Can reviews seem to uphold this theory.)
