Initially a shock to the palate it soon settles down to a sour malt beer that is quite mouth watering. Low carbonation. Ethereal (1500), London, Greater London, England

A pretty potent, heady nose showing plenty of alcohol. Just smelling wamrs you. Besides, the flavour focuses mostly on a vinous fruitiness, with the usual Ballards acidity to go along with it, but more like fruit acids this time. Cidery, yet medium-thick bodied, liquorous and plummy palate. Perhaps my favourite Ballards barley wine just because of the different take its acidity takes.
