Bottle. Pours a chestnut brown with a persistent tan head. Near-zero carbonation. Aroma of raisins and caramel, a bit sour. Fruit and malt with some alcoholic warmth. Thick palate. Decent barley wine.

Medium brown appearance with a minimal and quickly departing head. A pretty potent, heady nose showing plenty of alcohol. Just smelling wamrs you. Besides, the flavour focuses mostly on a vinous fruitiness, with the usual Ballards acidity to go along with it, but more like fruit acids this time. Cidery, yet medium-thick bodied, liquorous and plummy palate. Perhaps my favourite Ballards barley wine just because of the different take its acidity takes.

3rd LCRBM. Sweet apples, almost like calvados in the aroma. Sweet and sour flavor with malt, raisin and flowery hops. Red berries. Rather alcoholic, still a nice beer.
