Ungstrup (11376), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 2, 2007 Bottled. A dark amber beer with a slight haze, maybe due to the fact that I’ve refrigiated it for longer than the recommended 30 minutes, underneath only a rim of beige head. The aroma is oxydixed malty combined with strong notes of caramel and lighter notes of alcohol. The flavor is powerfully sweet with strong notes of mlat and caramel, but also an oxydixed note as well as light notes of wood and metal. Quite nice Old Ale. CaptainCougar (4663), Rockville, Maryland, USA Apr 24, 2006 Transparent orange mahogany color with a thin ring of off-white head. Sweet sticky caramel malty aroma has some toasted and oxidized notes with nice fruity complexity. Starts with sweet dark caramel viscous maltiness revealing some smooth earthy complexity before a semi-dry finish. A nice old ale. goldtwins (3740), Nesconset, New York, USA Mar 20, 2006 Poured a hazy ruby-amber color. The aroma was mostly sweet aged malt. A little fruity. Thick sweet malt flavor with more fruit but then a very dry bitter finish. kook (2035), Perth, Western Australia, Australia Feb 24, 2006 Strong raisin, prune and port wine aroma. Some alcoholic notes present. Flat ruby brown in colour, almost like port. Very vineous flavour, lots of dark fruit notes and a slightly bitter finish. Warming feel. Nice. Papsoe (10352), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 18, 2005 (Bottle 27,5 cl) Slightly hazy amber, completely without any trace of head. Weird aroma - perhaps a hint of apricots? Malty and very dry with a marked bitterness. Fruity notes, overripe fruit that is. Rather unusual. 031205
