tap at brewery - Pours amber with a nice lingering head. It smells of sweet malt and has a light roasted, sweet malt flavor. It’s smooth and light to medium bodied with a little hops in the finish. Pretty good.

From a growler. Amber body with an ample foamy white head. Roasted malt, bread dough, toffee, and spice in the aroma and the flavor. Light-Medium body. Nothing special.

On tap at the homebrew shop. Amber color. Small/microbubble head. Nice malty aroma. Tastes leans sweet. A hair of odd hop bitterness and some esters. Nice with pizza or cheese.

On tap at Ballast Point. Amber in color with thick tan head. Really good for a lager, thought it was an ale for a second but then got hit with that lager aftertaste.

ON tap at Stone. Brown with fizzy white head. Malty caramel aroma with some herbal hoppy notes. Toffee and nutty taste with a hoppy perfume and lsightly alcoholic finish.

Tasted during the San Diego Fesival of Beer. Nice sample of an Octokerfest. Lots of malty spicy aromas. Similar flavor. Nice and smooth. Maybe one of my favorite of the style.

On tap @ Ballast Point (Linda Vista) - I’m not sure it’s the same beer, but the beer I had was on tap as a Rocktober Fest lager. Pours a clear amber color with a thin off white head. Faint lacing. Aroma is light bready malt. Flavor is biscuit malt and light herbal hops. Medium body. A decent beer.
