Pours a clear deep golden color with a 2 finger thick off white head. Big nose of citrus, pine and oak. Flavor held hints of sweet oak with good hop bitterness while remaining very smooth and drinkable. They could have over done it with the oak, but they hit it right on the head, great stuff! | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 17, 2008 draft at homebrew mart location - samples side by side with the regular version; similar look but slightly flatter with low carbonation; drinks silky smooth and very tasty; the oak aging has dimensioned the strong hop aromas somewhat, but leaves a much sweeter and fuller mix of flavors; terrific WeeHeavySD (2970), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA
