bomber from grape and gourmet poured into a tulip glass. pours a very clean, slightly darker golden color with a very thin white head. aroma is excellent and quite big for an IPA. scents of big, fresh piney and grassy hops dominate with a bit lemon zest and some darker, sweeter malt aromas with a touch of caramel. flavor really is delicious with big fresh hops, some floral notes, and a big, slightly sweet malt presence that adds a nice balance to the beer. definitely more complex that your everyday IPA. mouthfeel is smooth, and nicely carbonated with a long lasting, bitter aftertaste. overall, a very solid IPA and a good little brother to Sculpin.

Taste 2/9 Bottle. My bottle says 7% abv instead of 6% listed in Ratebeer description. Looks: Copper body with lacing top. Aroma: Sweet malts, Citrus floral and pine hops. Taste: Floral/pine and malt. Too little of this too much of that. Not bad, just not evenly balanced.

12 oz bottle. Pours a copper color with a half finger off-white head that disappates quickly. Smells of some malt, citrus, and A LOT of delicious fresh hops. Tastes of a bit of citrus, malt, and again, a lot of hops. Very smooth taste that ends well, with a bit of bite at the end. Overall a very good IPA.

(bottle) Pours a rich, hazy amber color with a small off-white head. Lots of citrus hops in the aroma, some malt, pine, grass. Flavor is bright and has lots of fresh hop bitterness, but some sweetness from the malt, too. Lively carbonation, and the body is slightly to the full-side of medium. Feels good. Nice lacing on the glass.

Bottle. Pours an amber color with a small, white head. Lacing is fairly strong. Aromas of mostly citrus hops and a bit of malts. Lively texture with an oily finish, very nice throughout. Tastes of bitter hops yet a malty finish, very good beer.

Style and Glass: IPA, tulip ABV, Volume & Calories: 6% in 22 fl oz. estimated at 300C Purchased at: Canal’s Lawrenceville, NJ for $5.09 Aroma: nice citrus aroma is inviting and smells of resin. Pine and grapefruit. Visuals: Fish motif isn’t my favorite, but they make great beer. A red and amber party in a tulip bulb. Brilliant with a long lasting thin white head. Lacing is remarkable and sticky. Taste: Very well balanced in sweetness and bitterness. Lots of orange and lime notes. A bit sour, and a nice warm finish. Quiet and delicious. A very nice classic IPA. Palate: Starts very smooth, quickly dries and puckers, a bit sour, with a terricloth finish that is mostly pine and citrus. Overall: Delicious, affordable, and all the flavors that an IPA lover expects. No surprises, but no disappointments. I’ll have it again.
