This felt like a light IIPA, hopped beyond its backbone. Aroma was great taste was sticky without the goodness. TURDFERGUSON (1608), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 18, 2008 Bottle. Pretty clear orange amber with small white head. Nose has heavy floral, grassy, and citrus hop notes amidst some malts. Also noted a whiff of solvent. Like Jamie says, it is a bit too grassy. I by grassy I mean it tastes like I am eating grass. Regular mow the lawn grass, not marijuana. just to be clear. JCB (1799), Durham, North Carolina, USA

You know that you have had a shit ton of beer when you say, just another well crafted, flavorful, superbly balanced SD IPA. And that is what you get with Big Eye, jaded drinker or not. The beer starts out, after the handsome pour, with a big burst of floral aromas and flavors. But you really do get a nice toasted malt backbone here, for a slightly distinctive personality. Quite fine. Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 17, 2008 Balanced to a fault. Orange color with a decent white head. Grassy nose with hints of citrus and pine. Flavor is the same way with a strong malt backbone. I could actually do without the grassiness in this one. Decent beer. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 17, 2008 Bottle from Sams in Durham. Clear golden orange pour with nearly white head. Earthy, grassy, and a nice malt backbone behind a good deal of citrus and resin from the hops. Slightly spicy finish. drfabulous (1275), Columbia, Missouri, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 16, 2008 Floral. Lots of aroma. Very nice IPA that I swore I have rated. Citrus. Pine. All that elements of a fine West Coast IPA. nearbeer (1882), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 16, 2008 12 oz. Clear orange-copper with a quarter-inch lasting head. Frosty glass all the way down. Nice aroma of caramel, earthy tea leaf and orange. Flavor is similar with a large dose of resin, some grapefruit, pecan and lightly peppery oak. Medium body is smoothly carbonated, yet hop-tingly and dry. Great session IPA and much better than Stones or DFH.
