Aroma is pine and citrus hops. First taste is pine and citrus hops burn. Pretty strong hops flavor, not sure the IBUs are 55 seem more like 80+. Not enough malt backbone for me. This was a citrus (Pine-grapefruit) hop brew with hop notes and a blended malt balance. Good lacing with some hop bitterness towards the end. Ok, not my favorite. rayOfBeer (319), El Cerrito, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 5, 2008 Poured from tap an amber-orange with small off white head. Nose is leafy floral hops with some citrus and sweet malt. Flavor is malty with a little sweetness, floral hops, orange citrus, pine, and some grapefruit that is lighly bitter. Palate is malty full with some sweetness and a mild hoppy bitter plus quite a bit of astringent alcohol noticible. Overall some nice flavors and aroma. The alcohol in the finish took away some of the enjoyment, but still good. afireinside96 (839), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 3, 2008 12oz bottle served in a stem glass. Orange amber body topped by a half inch of head. Sweet piney grapefruit nose. Lots of pine in the flavor, very resinous, tangerine, some grapefruit, and a nice caramel sweetness to back it up. Some lingering bitterness. The head doesn’t last very long but it somehow leaves a nice spiderweb of lace. This is a very nice IPA. radagast83 (1315), Fairfax, Virginia, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 27, 2008 Pours cloudy orange with a very thin, soapy head. Strong, grassy hops pours from the bottle on opening and the glass on the pour. Super big hop bitterness punch. The Ratebeer profile says 55 IBUs but it tastes waaayyyy stronger which leads me to doubt that measurement. Strong, unbalanced hop flavor, fabulous for hop heads. A must try for IPA fans. jimhilt (1690), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 24, 2008 Pours a three finger white head that fades slowly to a thin layer, leaving a good lace. Nearly clear amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Hoppy nose. Flavor is sweet grapefruit that fades to bitter grapefruit at finish. No surprises here. $1.83 for a 12oz bottle from Manchester Wine and Liquors Manchester, CT.
