| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 21, 2008 On tap at Capones. Pours a translucent golden amber with a medium creamy bubbly off white head that laced. Aroma of all fresh hops, citrus, caramel, light floral notes. Flavor of the same with a nice hop flavor, lots of citrus, some caramel and a great malt balance. WISEGUY572 (1246), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 20, 2008 This is a fine west cost American IPA. Almost on a par with a Stone Ruination. Problem is ... they’re late. Stone and others have been making fine West Coast IPAs for years now. Good clear copper pour, with a small white head that leaves almost no lacing. Good grapefruit and pine nose and taste, with a long hoppy finish, hints of malt and caramel. Maybe even a little thin compared to the best of the genre. Fine beer, just not innovative enough to displace my current favs. kevd193213 (497), Hope Valley, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 20, 2008 Copper pour with thick white head. Aroma of metallic pine. Taste of pine with strong dry hoppy finish. Drink4Satan (585), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 19, 2008 Pours a crystal clear pale orange colour with a frothy off-white head that retains well and clings to the sides of hte glass. The nose is a brilliant bouquet of ripe citrus fruits, floral NW hops and pine. A rich caramel malt backbone is detectable in the aroma also. Upon first sip, you are hit bountiful malt sweetness, later finishing with pine-resin bitterness that lingers and fades towards caramel and honey sweetness. As it warms, potent and fresh hop flavous become increasingly prevalent, as opposed to hop bitterness. Malty flavours of vanilla and sweet turbino sugar evolve, too. The palate is syrupy and medium-bodied with tingly carbonation. This is a near-perfect IPA. illidurit (877), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 18, 2008 Bomber poured into a pint glass. Standard copper color with a nice tan head that sticks around forever. Some good lacing too.
Candied pineapple aroma, along with a rather sugary maltiness. Tropical and alluring.
Flavor is of resinous citrus hops that blend seamlessly with the caramel maltiness. Bitterness is kind of low, which keeps this on the sweet, wemi-cloying side.
Body is chewy and sugary, with modest carbonation. Tastes and feels almost like a weak west coast barleywine overall. emerica56 (581), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 18, 2008 After it was dumped into a pint glass the color was clear amber and it had a thick white head with laceing all along the sides of the glass. The nose is a very pungent pine and bitter hops. As you take your first sip the bitter hops atack your mouth followed by some smooth caramel and roasted malt. the flavor it self is very bitter and never gets mellow, the hop bitterness stays bitter right up to the last drop. Overall it is a great IPA and contains every thing an IPa should have. chronictonic (403), Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 16, 2008 capones - on tap -- red gold in color. Mild fresh hop aroma, slightly piney. Sharp crisp hop flavor, but for me it finishes really dry. Good but not one of the best socal IPAs. saxo (3590), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark
