Commercial Description:
It is brewed with four malts for a deep golden color and to lend a malty counterpoint to the hops. Its full hop flavor is guaranteed to please the palate of the true hop head. <br /> ABV 6% S.G. 1.070 F.G. 1.015 IBUs 55

Bottle courtesy of Overlord. Pours a golden, slightly bronze with a small head and some light carbonation. Aroma is very hoppy. Sort of smells like a barleywine too. Has some dark fruit elements to it as well. A mixture of citrusy hops, dark fruit, and malts on the taste make for a blend that initially is pleasant but seems somehow off at the finish. About halfway through this, I’m beginning to dislike the aftertaste of the hops. Its bitter which I usually love but in this case, it has an unpleasantness to it. Overall, an average IPA. Certainly not one of the elites. Glad I got to give this California local a try though.

tap at the brewpub - Pours copper with a one finger white head and a good citrus hop aroma. The crisp, bitter flavor has ample citrus hops but at the same time is very well balanced. The lingering bitterness of these same high quality hops caps off this great IPA.

Many thanks to Santa for the bomber! Poured a brilliant lighter orange with a very nice initial cap of beige head. The aroma picked up plenty of juicy grapefruit and lesser caramel with overtones of pine tar.. well-presented! The flavor found grapefruit, pears, and oranges with a bright, and rather unbalanced bitterness surrounding and lasting well through the finish (mostly pine with interlaced citrus).. grasses and pine join in the sweet, grainy finish. Medium-bodied with decent flow across the palate. Solid stuff.

Distinct, but not strong pine hop aromas, what do come through really tickle the nose, caramel malts nudge a few moecules throughpretty much what you should expect from a good IPA,taste is mainly the pine of hops ,a little oily and perhaps a touch past their peak, balancing caramel backing tastey bitter finish, your basic top shelf San Diego IPA. Thanks Overlord

amber copperish color. citrus hop smell. medium but substantial texture. good balance, with spice, hoppy bitterness and caramel malt - long finish. I like this one on the slightly bitter end of my IPA range.

another IPA, not an alesmith, but still good; an IPA that is mostly dry, pine flavor and aftertaste that is also a bit chewy... lemon, caramel, floral notes; decent.

Pours ok, some sticking to the side, not a lot of head. Has lots of flavor, with maybe a little to much burnt taste. Gave me heartburn quickly following my first drink.
