| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 27, 2009 Piney hops dominate the aroma, giving way to caramel malts. The appearance, true to its style, is orange/amber, white head. The flavor is even nicer than the aroma, a blast of citrus, lemon, toffee, caramel. Good hoppiness, good malt backbone for balance. The finish, predictably, is a hop bittering, mainly of the grapefruit type, very nice. Nothing outstanding in the IPA style, but a solid brew which does credit to its makers. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 15, 2009 Bottle shared by Andrew at the NSSMNSLT. Pour was golden to slight amber, typical IPA head. The aroma was floral hops, some candy floral type elements. The flavor followed the aroma, pine and floral hops, perhaps a bit too strong for my preferences on the latter. The flavor also featured a residual sweetness that could have been cleaned up a bit. Nevertheless, I liked this brew, pretty easy drinker. Thanks! rosenbergh (999), Helsinki, Finland

Hazy amber colour with small off-white head. Floral hoppy aroma with citrus and resin. Bitter hoppy flavour with citrus fruitiness resin bitterness. Also some malts in taste. Great American IPA. Trev (896), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 6, 2009 Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Pours an amber color, that is obviously oily from the indication of the larger bubbles; looks gorgeous and coats the glass well. Nose is citrusy hops, caramel malt, but the balance is off on this one and even slightly funky.
Rated the individual components high, but overall I’m not sure I loved it. Strykzone (1505), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 4, 2009 Bottle in Virginia. A nice IPA from Ballast Point. Pours a caramel color with a nice thick tan head that leaves lacing in layers. Aroma is well hopped with floral, pine and citrus along with caramel. Flavor offers a nicely hopped profile with, again, those floral, pine, and grapefruit notes. Caramel balances nicely. Creamy feel. A nice citrus aftertaste remains long after. Well crafted.
