| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 30, 2007 Had this brew at the brewery in Linda Vista a few months back. Great flavors when the two beers are combined (Big Eye IPA and Black Marlin Porter). Reminded me of Stone’s 11th Anniversary. doubleo (1121), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 16, 2008 On-tap at the Linda Vista location. Pours murky, light brown with a good sized offwhite head, good lace. Smells, well it smells like and IPA mixed with a Porter. Bright hoppy notes mixed with dark roasty malty notes. Tastes hoppy and citrusy with a nice backbone of roasty malts. The roasty flavors linger. Thin body, good carbonation. papajohn (1055), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 7, 2007 Half and half poured from a bomber of Black Marlin Porter and a bomber of Big Eye IPA: Dark burgandy color held up to a light with a fluffy light beige head. Aroma is citrus, pine and dark malt. Flavor starts light citrus and pine followed by coffee and a little dark chocolate finishing semi-sweet with a light orange rind bitterness. Medium body is smooth and creamy with moderate carbonaton. Interesting blend. danielcurtis81 (916), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 22, 2009 Served from tap at the brewery. Appearance is a more translucent brown black with a small tan head. Aromas are hop infused roasted malt aromas. The flavors are really nice roasted malt that lean towards the chocolate side. A good amount of citrus hop flavors too. The mouth is nicely carbonated and medium bodied. A nice blend, I really enjoyed. hapjydeuce (774), Del Mar, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 11, 2007 Updated: Sep 20, 2007Had this one at the Ballast brewery, right across the street from USD campus a few weeks ago. Im not exactly sure how often or how much they make of this stuff, but an interesting blend of the porter and the IPA, I loved the increased hoppiness due to the mix. It sure makes Black Marlin more worthy! Dark coffee color, kind of watery on the edges, with a medium beige head. Not very thick, as expected from a porter/IPA mix, but the flavor was great! Dry and bitter finish on the plate. Nice.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 10, 2007 A blend of the Black Marlin Porter and the Big Eye IPA. I agree with brettpace - an awesome brew... blends into a big hoppy, coffeed up, and chocolatey rich...with a bitter dry finish. Outstanding! Similar to Pizza Port’s Black Lie.
