The nose is earthy, more in the English direction, alcohol, caramel, no roast, some coffee, herbal hops. The flavor is hoppy, has an English feel as well, interesting, very mild bitterness, some diacetyl, caramel, some coffee. The palate has a mild waxy bitterness. faroeviking (6128), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands

Very pleasant aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and some coffee. Great creamy filling mouthfeel. Pours deep brown with a fine, small, creamy, off-white head. Nice aroma with good chocolate, some roasted malts and a little bit of herbal hops. Medium carbonation, fine mouthfeel. Flavour is nicely porter-ish, mellow at first, some roasted malts and general sugary sweetness. Great aftertaste with chocolate, wood, roasted malts. Very drinkable. NachlamSie (1654), Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 22, 2008 Bomber from Bruisin’. Pours an ultra deep red with very thick lacing and a rocky tan head. hm. Weird aroma for a porter on this one. It is musty with hints at basement and herbs. Roast is secondary in the aroma. I’m not sure what to make of it. The flavor is more grounded in the style, but with a juicy, bready, herbal zing to it. Suggestions at charred wood, brownies, and chocolate are made. The mouthfeel is on the lighter side of porters. This is not bad. JCB (1799), Durham, North Carolina, USA

A very thick, oily pour with a two finger head. Very lively hoppy aroma giving it an appealing quality of balance. Super strong roasted malts and notes of chocolate, all very full and flavorful. In fact, they pull it off better than some of the self avowed chocolate beers out there. In fairness, there may not be a terrific amount that is distinctive about this brew, but I cannot knock such a solid porter. SuzyGreenberg (1408), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 9, 2008 Bomber, from Southington in CT. Pours brown-black with a small head. Aroma of charcoal, dark chocolate, and roasted malt. Initial flavors are quite subdued, not unlike other BP beers I’ve tried, with soon unfolds into sweet brown sugar, and roasted malt. Really nice blend, if a little tame. Finish is dry and full of delicious charcoal. Although that sounds unappetizing.
