Ballast Point Bourbon/Syrah Barrel Aged Three Sheets Barleywine

Brown with a creamy head. Caramel and wine aroma. Sweet tangy and sour taste with a dry oaky finish.

On-tap at Stone. Sorry if this has already been added and rejected but I think it deserves its own entry so I will give it a whirl. Pours hazy dark amber with red highlights. Thin, fizzy, off white head with good lace. Smells rich and dark malty sweet. Lots of grape and wood character with just a hint of bourbon. Tastes malty and sour with lots of barrel and grape flavors and a little bourbon. Sweet. I think the sourness might come from the wood. Medium body, very fizzy carbonation which king of detracts from the beer I think.
