Jul 27, 2008 22 oz bottle. Not a real pronounced aroma, Amber with creamy colored head. Good malt/hops balance. Citrus, caramel with a light to medium hoppy bitterness rebound that reminds a bit of IPA’s. My first Ballast Point taste. They’ve quite a rep and I want to discover why.

Jul 22, 2008 The aroma is piny with citrus and caramel. The appearance is amber with a large tan head. The flavor is astringent and malty with plenty of hops. The palate is thin. Overall it’s average.

Jul 18, 2008 Updated: Jul 19, 200822 oz. Clear copper amber in color with a nice off white fluffy head that left a nice lacing on the glass. Hoppy citrusy malty aroma. Caramel notes. Piney earthy, grassy hops. Malty caramel floral hoppy flavor. Full bodied. Finish is bitter. Sweet tasting. Very drinkable.

Jul 15, 2008 Dark clear amber, creamy off white head. Toasty pink grapefruit and earthy aromas warm to lighter notes of chocolate black tea and caramel. Earthed grapefruit flavors and kisses of pine balance well on notes of sweet toasted caramel grains. Light to medium bodied, light carbonation, soft bittersweet finish. Easy to put a few of these away…

Jul 15, 2008 120z bottle. The aroma was of light grapefruity hops, caramel, and toffee. Poured a clear dark orange color. The head was thick, rocky, and off white with good retention and lacing. Good looking beer. Medium bodied and slightly sweet without any significant hop bitterness. Spicy malt flavors came out up front with some brown sugar and flowery hops. Distinct graham cracker and some caramel emerged at the end. Solid amber. There’s a good chance that even a casual beer drinker would like this one.

Jun 21, 2008 From a 22 oz bottle this poured an attractive copper color with off-white head and good lacing. Nose of caramel malts and floral and citrus hops. Smooth mouthfeel. Favor of light fruit and citrus and a long bitter finish. For its type, excellent, and one of the better ambers I have seen.

Jun 17, 2008 22oz bottle. Clear red-amber color, average head with lasting foam. Malty and herbal/grass aroma. Nice full caramel maltiness with a spicy hop flavor that balances really well. Well, the aroma is a little bland and subtle, but the flavor has a really nice balance. Not amazing, but well done and really drinkable.
