650 ml. brown bottle, no freshness date, sampled in a pint glass. Poured a clear reddish copper with a nice sized beige head of creamy foam. Beneath the head is a steady stream of carbonation. Pleasant smelling nose of toasted biscuits and honey husky grains, oily pine, citrus and peppery spices. Mildly crisp moderate body, dry and soft feeling in the palate. The hops are restrained, but prevalent in the taste. Oily grapefruit peels, pine resins and herbaceous leafs all vying to stick to the tongue’s taste buds. Underlining the hops are sweet malty flavors of toasted honey grains and lightly roasted caramel. A light yeast fruitiness becomes quite citric towards the end. Finishes with a dry toasted breadiness and a lingering peppery hop spiciness. A first rate American Amber Ale, malty with that California hoppiness makes this a very sessional beer.

Amber bottle pour with an off-white head. Citrus and caramel nose. Flavor is slightly sweet with caramilzed sugars, with a nice hoppy bite to it. Medium body with somewhat hoppy finish. Very nice.

12oz bottle: Pours a transparent orange amber with a wispy-lacing froth of off-white head. Aroma of lightly sweet and toasted caramel malts with some resiny grapefruity hoppy notes. Body starts fairly full with a nice, earthy caramel biscuity sweetness along with a crisp, English hoppy bitterness toward a balanced bittersweet finish. Very drinkable and true to style.
