Pours a clear reddish amber (more red than amber actually) with a moderate-large tan head that lasted until mid-glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma of malt, orange and grapefruit. The flavor is malt with just a bit of sweetness and molasses followed by a solid dose of grapefruit fruit flavor as well as moderate grapefruit bitterness. Medium bodied. Sessionable and enjoyable! junon (221), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA

Appearance is...brandy wine. I get a honey not in the bouquet. Taste has a herbal finish. This beer delivers in all areas. Exciting beer. My favourite so far from Ballast Point. Smells of caramel, some sugary hints, roses, some sweet citrus. Tastes of sweet malt, tangerines, some hints of citrussy tartness on the finish. Capa (977), Yokosuka, Japan
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 20, 2009 Crystal clear ruby colored wirha thin, off white head. Aroma is rather sweet with plenty of sugar and pleasant citrus. Flavor very similar. Sweet sugary malts, citrus, light lemon, and the smallest amount of caramel I would ever comment on. Clean and refreshing but not all that exciting. keepersj12 (799), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA

A good session beer. Creamy hops and brown sugar aromas. Brown opaque color with some density. Flavors are hoppy with red roasted flavors and some cream and cheese. Palate is creamy and rich enough. Light but rich and well balanced. Tasty. NewBelgium5 (66), , Pennsylvania, USA
