Pours a clear orange with an off-white head and fair lacings. Quite bitter. Lots of piney hops aromas with a hint of resin. Full bodied with a thick mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. Long bitter finish with some warming alcohol finish. Slightly unbalanced.

4-20-08 bottle shared with lb4lb thanks to Overlord
Big bright cloudy orange (nice bold vibrant color) with a huge frothy great head - big and thick and beautiful. Smell is nice and bold and fruity oranges and grapefruit. Flavor is creamy and hoppy but not very bitter. It is really smooth and really creamy. Alcohol is present but it is a very sweet alcohol that works here. Sweet and hoppy orange finish that is really nice and clean. Overall, very enjoyable.

Pours clear copper with a half inch white head. The dense foam recedes within two minutes and reveals a partial skim coat on the surface and some decent lacework. Aromatics are pungent, piney, and citrusy. Notes of wet hay and juniper add some earthy zest, along with spruce sap and grapefruit pith. Alcohol is evident with a trace of fusels intermingeling with spiked orange skins and grapeskins. Mouthfeel is dry, crisp, and mildly stinging from assertive bitterness. The pallet is juicy and piney, heavy on the pink grapefruit and orange pith. Conifer sap from the bough, with alcohol steeped dried fruits. Bitterness is substantial and borderline astringent, lingering as lengthy as the warming alcohol. Finishes almost hot, with jowel-watering bitterness and tongue-gripping alphas. A great beer, but I think a fresher example would boost the numbers.

Bottle courtesy of Quake1028 or Ibrew2or3. Pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of orange zest, pine, grassy hops, and sweet malt. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a strong but well balanced amount of bitterness. Very good

A Mes rate: Bottle at Chris_O’s Ha Ha Ha Ha Gimme the Cheese Tasting.
Amber coloured with a thin white head. Very good grassy hops nut a little too much wheat flavour pulls it slightly out of line. Very slight hints of alcohol but it’s well hidden really making it drink a little below its strength. Possibly a little too sweet but all in all a decent IPA.
