Draft @ Hamilton’s. Bright orange-amber color; white head with great retention and lacing that coats the glass. Dense, earthy and citrus hoppiness in the aroma; dense, resiny. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: dense citrus hop character with an earthy malt backbone; well-developed hoppiness but slightly astringent, with a dry, dried dark fruit character at mid-palate. Lengthy, dried fruits and wet malt finish.

Creamy white head with lots of sticky lace over a murky orange beer. Sharp pine and orange rind nose. Nice thick mouthfeel. Lots of orange peel and grapefruit juice with a caramel sweetness under it all. Well balanced IIPA.

I didn’t expect this. I mean, I expected something good from Ballast Point but this just blew my mind. What a great friggin DIPA. My God! An aroma that’s just insane. Coconut, papaya, passion fruit, grapefruit, mango and pines. It’s like you took a trip to some tropical island and got all the best it has to offer in one sniff. Appearance is amber/orange in color with a nice eggshell white head. Mouthfeel is silky smooth..no harshness, no overcarbonation...for me...perfect. Flavor is more of this same with the aroma. Tons of tropical fruit, bitter citrus hops, sweet caramel malts....in a word...perfect. No noticeable alcohol levels, just a smooth, intense highly delightful beer to consume. Thankfully, I have another bottle!

22oz, man is it delicious, not too sticky or syrupy, just fantastic, easy drinking lots of hops, not really on the edge of how hoppy a beer can be but rather spot on for what i want for a double IPA... so glad i got the chance to try it

650 ml bottle. Pours a translucent deep orange-gold, with an off white head that had medium duration. Plenty of lacing observed. Aroma is all citrus, lemon, grapefruit, oranges and limes. Flavor is dominated by biter hops, this is a hops bomb, but its not nearly as biter as it could be. In addition to the biter the flavor has plenty of grapefruit and some biter walnuts. Mouthfeel is full and satisfying with a silky feel and plenty of carbonation. Finish showcases more lingering hops, not a clean crisp finish. Overall this is a beer for people who like to push the envelope on hops, now re-rating this beer for the third time and each time I like it more.

Beer pours dark golden with a smallish egg white head. Very hoppy in the nose with significant citrus aromas; also a bit of burnt sugar. Flavor is bitter with lots of juicy hoppiness, a bit sweet in the finish which, for me distracts from the overall hop head experience. A good Double, but not great for this rater.

Man, what a nice IPA. Wonderfully bright orange color...hazy and great frothy white head. Some wonderful hop flavors on the nose, but very integrated. Same with the flavor...much hops, but overall well integrated. Full bodied, and a bit slick at times, but nice bitters and floral notes. Great DIPA.
