It may not be uber-complex but this is just about as good a DIPA, possibly even as tasty a beer, as you could hope for. Sure there’s some malt, and this one’s got body, but this is about fruity hops, pure and simple. Big in the aroma, and huge in the flavor. Full bodied, citrus and melon everywhere, just awesome. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 3, 2007 had it on tap at a pizza place. the head has a tanish white color that dissipates with in a minute, the body is a golden amber color, has a hoppy aroma.. not much of an aroma all together, oily texture (not as thick of a texture as other IPAs) has a decently strong alcohol taste, has a hoppy taste to it with a hint of citrus and caramel, a sweat bitter taste altogether. this beer is decent nothing to amazing but it taste’s great with pizza. pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA

Aroma is big citrus hops; grapefruit and orange. A lot of orange in the taste with some tropical fruit and melon. West-coast balanced. Just a bit of sweet malt. Bitter citrus-rind finish. Another great west coast IIPA. JB175 (1664), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 20, 2007 Bottle thanks to miketd. Golden color with a medium white head. Aroma is big, citrusy, and sweet - lots of cantaloupe, floral hops, and sweet malt. Flavor is overwhelmingly dominated by sweet hops and cantaloupe. Citrus, floral hops, and some sugary malts mix in there nicely. Light hop sting and a smooth, not overly heavy mouthfeel make it a really nice DIPA. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 13, 2007 Bottle. Pours a clear orange amber with big foamy white head. Aroma is sweet malt and floral hops. Taste is very full with semi-sweet caramel malts and piney hops. Juicy light fruits make the hops seem powerful without having a bitter bite. Very nice. fly (1333), austin, Tejas, USA
