bottle from the beer exchange, charleston SC. body is amber-orange, and yellow gold at the edges. off-white fluffy tall head. aroma is very hoppy grapefruit, some pine needles and a little floral. Flavor has a little bit of sweet caramel maltyness but mostly dominant pine/bitter citrus hop flavor. strong hop finish and alcohol pretty well hidden, aftertaste holds good.

Bottle from Newport Pizza in OB. Hazy orange pour with no real head to speak up. Aroma of hops and citrus with a little bit of a sweet kick. The mouth feel is smooth and a little heavy. Strong flavor of fresh, piney hops but it is very well balanced with a semi-sweet carmel malt. All around, it’s a solid IIPA

Pours a hazy amber orange with medium off-white head. Aroma very pleasant of a nice hops balance, citrus, pine, grass, and a bit of caramel. Flavor matches well and doesn’t have that overdone flavor of some poor attempts at IIPAs. Overall, very nice.

Appearance – Pours a beautiful hazy orange color with light yellow tinge. The head is a yellowish off-white color about 1 finger in size. This looks awesomely juicy and delicious. Smell – Smells great too! Lots of grapefruit and what I believe to be either cascade or centennial hops overwhelm the nose. Taste – This has a great stage of act after act of awesome flavors. It first starts off with a blast of grapefruit, tangerines, and citrus tingling. The middle is full of bitter mouth-puckering awesomeness. Finally it is ended with a floral hop flavor that lasts and taunts you to take another sip. Mouthfeel – This is resinous in the kind of way that I love. It sticks around like tree sap in your mouth and lets you fully experience the flavor profile of this wonderful beer. Drinkability – Wow, great beer. Although, I shared this with a buddy and I still got a massive buzz. I haven’t eaten anything for almost 12 hours though, so that may be why. I wish I could drink a million of these, absolutely awesome brew.

This beer is as close as it gets to duplicating "The Pliny" With that said. It is very good. I really don’t know what else to say. If you can’t get Pliny then get this instead.

Poured hazy yellow with white head. Loads of citrus and hops in the aroma. Very citrusy with a wet finish.

22 oz bottle obtained via trade. Pours a deep golden color with a moderate white head that faded quickly. Aroma is all hops, citrus mainly with some light floral and pine. Flavor is very citric and piney, and is maybe just a slight bit too boozy, which is unusual in a DIPA. Light malt in flavor too, but mostly just a hop bomb. I preferred the Sculpin I had for sure.

22oz bottle. Dark golden with medium off white head. Nice citrus hop aroma. Taste screams deep caramel malts most of the way through, then finishes with a bitterness that balances well. Hop flavor mingles with the malts and is quite enjoyable, but pure hop flavor is pretty subdued.
